Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday distributed first aid kits to Haj pilgrims at a programme organized by the Chhattisgarh State Haj Committee at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Auditorium, Medical College, in the state capital Raipur. He wished the pilgrims a safe and pleasant journey.
This is for first time, the Health Department has provided special training to the pilgrims along with medical kits for their journey.
“It has been an honour and great privilege to welcome Haj pilgrims continuously since my tenure as Member of Parliament from Raigarh. A total of 815 pilgrims from the state will undertake the Haj pilgrimage this year. I request pilgrims to pray for the peace and prosperity of the country and the state, and wish all pilgrims a successful journey,” said Shri Sai.
Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal, in his address, said that it is a matter of happiness that Haj pilgrims from Chhattisgarh are getting this sacred opportunity. Appealing them to complete their journey successfully and pray for the well-being of the state and the nation. He also noted that the waiting period for Haj has reduced significantly, enabling more people to undertake the pilgrimage—made possible through the efforts of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Chhattisgarh State Haj Committee’s Chairman Shri Mirza Ejaz Beg also addressed the gathering and shared key information related to the Haj pilgrimage. Minority Commission’s Chairman Shri Amarjeet Chhabra, Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation’s Chairman Shri Lokesh Kawadia, Waqf Board’s Chairman Dr Salim Raj, and Chhattisgarh State Haj Committee’s CEO Dr Khushboo Usman, along with distinguished members of society and Haj pilgrims from across the state, were present on the occasion.
