Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai pays tribute to Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Shri Rupnarayan Sinha

Shri Sinha gave new direction to the yoga movement in Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur,  Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday paid tribute to late Shri Rupnarayan Sinha, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, at a condolence meeting held at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur, describing his passing as an irreparable loss for both the state and society.

Remembering Shri Sinha’s contribution, Chief Minister said his life was dedicated to social service, organisational development and the promotion of yoga. He said Shri Sinha earned widespread respect through his simplicity, humility and ability to connect with people from all sections of society.

Shri Sai said that after assuming charge as Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission, Shri Sinha worked with dedication and energy to expand the reach of yoga across the state. His efforts helped establish yoga not merely as a health practice but as a way of life, giving a fresh direction and wider public acceptance to yoga-related activities in the state.

Recalling his interactions with the late yoga leader, Chief Minister said Shri Sinha regularly shared ideas aimed at bringing positive change in society through yoga-based initiatives. His suggestions were always constructive and people-centric, and he remained committed to taking yoga to every section of society, Shri Sai said.

Chief Minister also highlighted Shri Sinha’s role in the successful organization of the International Day of Yoga programme held at Ranjita Stadium in Jashpur last year. Despite limited time, he had played a key role in executing the event efficiently and on a large scale, reflecting his organizational abilities and commitment to the cause of yoga, Shri Sai said. The programme witnessed significant public participation and helped strengthen awareness about yoga across the region.

Describing Shri Sinha’s life as a symbol of dedication, discipline and positive energy, Chief Minister said his contribution will continue to inspire future generations.

Shri Sai expressed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to family members in their time of grief.

Among those present at the condolence meeting were Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, MLAs Shri Amar Agrawal, Shri Dharamlal Kaushik and Shri Ajay Chandrakar, Mayor Smt. Meenal Choubey, Shri Ramesh Bais, Shri Ram Pratap, Shri Pawan Sai, Dr Purnendu Saxena, Shri Ram Dutt and Shri Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, along with a large number of public representatives, yoga practitioners and citizens who paid their respects to the late Shri Rupnarayan Sinha.
