Directs officials to ensure government schemes reach every eligible family and grievances are resolved within stipulated timelines
Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach every eligible family in Bastar and that citizens do not have to struggle for resolution of their grievances, while chairing a high-level review meeting in Sukma with senior officials from Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur districts.
Reviewing progress in development projects, law and order, revenue administration, healthcare, education, agriculture, infrastructure and welfare programmes, Chief Minister said the success of governance is measured by its ability to improve the lives of people at the grassroots level. He instructed officials to ensure 100% saturation of welfare schemes, particularly in remote and sensitive areas of the Bastar division.
Health outreach in mission mode
Reviewing the Bastar Munne campaign and Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan, Shri Sai directed officials to ensure regular and effective healthcare access in remote forested areas. He stressed that camp-based services should focus on maximum grievance redressal and, wherever necessary, camps should continue for two to three days to ensure solutions are delivered on the ground. He said healthcare outcomes should not remain confined to statistics and reports, but must translate into quality treatment and dependable services for citizens.
Special drive for pending revenue cases
Chief Minister directed officials to accord top priority to revenue administration, noting that matters such as mutation, land demarcation, partition and correction of records directly affect citizens’ rights and livelihoods.
He ordered a special campaign to dispose of cases pending beyond prescribed timelines, particularly those pending for more than a year. The meeting also reviewed implementation of SVAMITVA scheme, distribution of forest rights titles, delivery of welfare benefits to rehabilitated families and efforts to facilitate the return and resettlement of Bastar-origin families living in other states.
Bastar brand for women-led enterprises
Chief Minister called for linking women’s self-help groups with income-generating activities such as shrimp farming, goat rearing, beekeeping and forest-produce-based enterprises. He directed officials to prepare a shrimp-farming development plan for ponds along the Shabari river region and suggested that products made by women’s groups be marketed under a dedicated “Bastar Brand”. He said self-help groups can play a larger role in strengthening rural livelihoods and driving social change.
Tourism, agriculture and tribal entrepreneurship in focus
The meeting discussed opportunities to promote tourism through water sports, adventure sports and jungle safaris in Sukma, Dantewada and Bijapur. Shri Sai emphasised linking tourism destinations with local employment and economic activity. He also directed officials to encourage tribal communities to participate in paddy processing and milling activities to promote local entrepreneurship.
Reviewing preparations for the upcoming kharif season, Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure timely availability of seeds and fertilizers. Given the limited availability of DAP fertilizer, he stressed awareness campaigns on alternatives such as SSP, urea, nano urea and nano DAP.
