PM Shri Narendra Modi to Transfer DBT Funds to 9.32 Crore Farmers Nationwide

More than 24.71 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh to receive Rs 498.83 crore via DBT

Raipur, March 12, 2026//
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will release the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi on March 13 during a programme in Guwahati. Through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), about Rs 18,650 crore will be transferred to the bank accounts of nearly 9.32 crore farmers across the country.

From this amount, RS 498.83 crore will be transferred to 24,71,498 farmers in Chhattisgarh. The beneficiaries in the state include 2.92 lakh forest rights ‘patta’ holders and 37,400 farmers from Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

Farmers and public representatives from across the state will join the national event through video conferencing from Swami Vivekananda Agricultural College in Raipur.

Officials of the Agriculture Department said that under PM Kisan Utsav, farmer meetings will be organised in various gram panchayats and the Prime Minister’s programme will be broadcast live so that farmers can participate directly.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi was launched in December 2018, with the first instalment released in February 2019. Since the launch of the scheme, farmers in Chhattisgarh have received Rs 11,283.09 crore in total.

The scheme is fully funded by the Government of India and provides Rs 6,000 annually to eligible farmer families, transferred in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 every four months through DBT directly into bank accounts.

Eligible beneficiaries include individual and joint landholding farmer families recorded in land records, forest rights patta holders, and farmers belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups. For PVTG farmers, the mandatory requirement of agricultural land has been relaxed to ensure they can benefit from the scheme.
