Education should nurture values as well as knowledge: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raipur, June 16, 2026\/ Various saints and spiritual leaders paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence in Raipur and welcomed the state government’s decision to reintroduce Indian cultural, spiritual and moral values in school education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The delegation included Dakshin Kaushal Peethadheeshwar Shri Swami Rajeev Lochan Das Ji Maharaj, Shri Mahant Surendra Das Ji Maharaj of Nirvani Akhara, Shri Uday Lal Ji of Shadani Darbar and Shri Devkar Sahab Ji of Kabir Ashram, Sonpairi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The saints said students were earlier introduced to verses such as “Guru Brahma, Guru Vishnu, Guru Devo Maheshwara” and other Indian cultural traditions in schools, which helped instill values, discipline and moral principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They welcomed the state’s move to revive these practices, saying the inclusion of Shantipath, Saraswati Vandana, Bhojan Mantra and other traditional prayers would contribute to the holistic development of students and help the younger generation connect with India’s knowledge, traditions, culture and ethical values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Shri Sai said education is not only a means of acquiring knowledge but also a foundation for character building and value-based learning. He said the state government is committed to integrating Indian culture, traditions and spiritual values with modern education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister said the inclusion of practices such as Shantipath, Saraswati Vandana and other inspirational prayers in schools will help nurture discipline, positive thinking, self-confidence and cultural awareness among students. He described the initiative as an important step towards connecting the younger generation with its roots and developing responsible and aware citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
