The development comes in the wake of the Chief Minister\u2019s strong displeasure over the poor condition of the road and the delay in its repair, which he has expressed during a recent review meeting on construction works in the Surguja division held in Balrampur under the \u2018Sushasan Tihar\u2019 initiative.Highlighting the hardships faced by commuters due to the incomplete stretch, the Chief Minister had stressed upon the urgency of expediting the repairs, especially with the monsoon season approaching. He had said that immediate restoration of the road is critical to ensure smooth and safe movement of the public.Acting swiftly on these directions, Public Works Department has prioritised the repair work. As per a letter issued by the Chief Engineer, the previously submitted proposal for the repair of the incomplete stretch has been approved, with clear instructions to commence work without delay. The repairs will be undertaken through the zonal agency at the earliest. In case of non-availability of the zonal agency, the work may be executed under existing contractual arrangements of the concerned divisions.In a move aimed at ensuring close supervision and prompt execution, the Executive Engineer of the National Highway Division in Ambikapur has been directed to establish his headquarters in Kunkuri until the completion of the repair work. Strict instructions have also been issued prohibiting him from leaving the station without prior permission, to prevent any delay or negligence in the execution process.Taking a serious view of the matter, Chief Minister Shri Sai has made it clear that any negligence in the repair work will not be tolerated. The accelerated pace of action following his intervention is expected to bring much-needed relief to the local population.
